I did meet my second goal to at least start painting the models by Friday. I spent some time going back and forth on color and wash combinations on this one, so it took me longer to figure it out. Except for some highlighting (a skill that I'm still trying to develop), the first model is completed. Now that I know the colors, I can move a bit faster - Next goal is to have AT LEAST half the squad finished by next Friday (what can I say? I'm a very busy person).
I decided to keep it simple, in order to stay with the concept that at this point, the Crimson Fists are pretty spartan in their armor and equipment due to the heavy losses incurred on Rynn's World.
Nice! Glad to see a fist back in action!
ReplyDeleteNice work Hammer, I too am a Crimson Fists fan. Its good to see you back with them.
ReplyDeletehe looks great, i love those high collars. what basing material have you used?
ReplyDeleteThanks, gang! I used standard GW gravel. I used watered down Chaos Black, Adeptus Battle Grey, Fortress Grey, Bleached Bone. The rim of the base is Adeptus Battle Grey.
ReplyDeletethat GW gravel has small but well formed grains to it, it looks really good. mine's from years ago so i might invest in some new stuff
ReplyDeleteYeah, mine is from about 4 years ago too. But I still have plenty left.
ReplyDeleteLooking good, Hammer! Keep 'em coming! :)
ReplyDeleteThe freehand you put on the shoulder pads really helps bring some character into your models. Great work, can't wait to see the rest of the squad!
ReplyDeletehate to be a dick, but there's a big moldline running down the side of that helmet.
ReplyDeleteoddly enough, I scraped that moldline off. I didn't notice it until I posted the pic.
