Sorry for the delay. I almost forgot it was Friday! Since ABC's 'Lost' has revealed that the island and our castaways have been shifting through time, I'd say it officially makes that a science fiction show. Which now qualifies this hottie as a bona fide Sci Fi Hot Chick.
It has totally sucked being me this last week and a half and I really need to be stuck on a deserted island with this one for a month or so. Aw hell, who am I kiddin', I'd prefer forever.

A Little Update
Even though, I've been freakin' crazy busy, I have managed to spend some time (usually in the wee hours) working on stuff.
Crimson Fists
I've primed a squad of termies and they're about to go under the brush. I have since finished painting my second Tac Squad and put the 1k list through a small battle. Didn't do so good, so I'll change a thing or two. I'm about to start building the Scout Bikers set and hopefully throw down with those in play. I'm also going to assemble a Devastator Squad and see how that can help.
Imperial Guard
I'm continuing to assemble every single plastic trooper that I can find and just dug two Leman Russ. Time to get these boys some heavy support. I've been kind of motivated to get the tanks built after watching the lastest episode of Patton 360 on History Channel.
Pirates
I played my first games of Legend of the High Seas last week with a gaming group that I belong too. That game rocks. I think it's got the right combination of rules from LotR and Mordheim. The rules were quick to pick up and it was a pretty fast paced game.
Let's see, I think that's about it. I'm toying with the idea of making a 1,000 Grey Knights army, but we'll see.
Have a great holiday weekend.

Campaign Banner - Declates Crusade
Just a quick one. I found the image of this banner out there on the web. In one of my previous posts, I mentioned painting campaign badges and such on the models to give them a more personal touch. In that post I had mentioned that the Crimson Fists had fought side by side with their brethren from the Black Templars during the Delcates Crusade. Well here's the banner that was carried by the Emperor's Finest. Hope it gives you all some ideas.

New Project - High Elves Revisited
Some time ago (last year), I had been working on a High Elf army for Warhammer Fantasy. I had many of the models built, but not painted. I had even played a game with them with John at Plastic Legions. But alas, I got side tracked with other things (life, new job, school, wife, kids, bills, families,......). So I packed the models up and put them away.
Well now, I'd like to step back into fantasy on at least a small scale and so I've decided that going back to my High Elves would be the quickest way. I've created a 1,000 point list and have pretty much every model needed for that list. So, I'll take up the brush and get the army painted soon (I've got three weeks left of school...so do the kids).
Pulling out the High Elves will also serve another purpose - prevent me from purchasing more stuff from GW. I've got plenty to do at home. I don't need to be spending a ton of cash on projects that I may never start. At least until I'm done with the current.
Here's the list for review:

Huh? New Race????
Bell of Lost Souls is reporting the possibility of a new race in Warhammer? Wouldn't that be cool? I for one hope that this rumor becomes fact. I hope it's a full blown race with it's own codex/army book. Not some obscure servant race like the Kroot or that other alien species in the Tau Codex. Which ever game system carries, I think this is exactly what Fantasy and 40k need. A breath of fresh air. A whole new army and not just different ways to play the old ones. Don't get me wrong, the existing ones are great. But something new and different? Nice.
Personally, I hope it's a 40k race. I think introducing a new race into that system is easier. It's a big universe. Introducing it into the Olde World of the Fantasy system would be tough, as we're dealing with a single world. But we'll see if it becomes a reality.

Wow - Friday AGAIN!
Okay, this one's for all of the old timers out there. I remember being in 7th and 8th grade, circa 1978-1979. I was completely addicted to Battlestar Galactica. This, my friends, is one of the reasons why. I had such a crush on Maren Jensen, it wasn't even funny. My fondest wish was to be squeezed into a Viper cockpit with this honey. In my mind, one of the true classic beauties of Sci Fi. Enjoy!

Crimson Fist Terminators - Step 1
I finished building my Crimson Fist Terminator Squad. I had used the Forgeworld shoulder guards on part of the squad, but not all. I'm still trying to give each model that sense of individuality, so I mixed some of the standard Terminator shoulder bits that were included with the kit. I'm thinking the FW ones are more representative of the 'ancient relic' theme and the 'kit' guards are the 'newer versions'.
The next step is to scrub the resin bits and then prime these bad boys.

Cadian Command Squad
Like a lot of 40k gamers (at least the Loyalist Imperials), I picked up the Codex this past weekend and revelled in GW's latest release. As you may know, I have been spending an hour here or there assembling an Imperial Guard army over the last couple of months in anticipation of the new Codex. Well, I also decided to pick up a blister of squats, (er, I mean Ratlings). I had to. C'mon how cool is that? Hobbits w/ sniper rifles. I also grabbed a Cadian Command Squad and I checked out the sprues. I have to say that the bits included are phenomenal. This kit is also a great set to have, just to apply to your standard Guard platoon, just to add a little variety. I'm going to pick another one on payday.
If your an IG player, you've got to get this.

Crimson Fist Update
I finally completed the Tactical Squad and got it just the way I wanted it. I added several details including a campaign badge, some random striping on some of the helmets. The goal her was to give each model it's own look. While none of them are Golden Demon material, I'm finally happy with the squad. Now I can move on.
